Welcome to the Otley BID website, where we hope to give you all the information you need to know about the Otley Business Improvement District (BID) Initiative.
To give you a summary of what we stand for, Otley BID is an investment scheme where local businesses can agree on priorities for Otley. As a partnership we would decide how funds raised can be spent to improve our beautiful town, thus benefiting all businesses, employers, residents and visitors alike. Ultimately we would like every business within Otley to support this much needed, positive scheme.
We are currently in the process of visiting all 450+ businesses within the town to understand (a) whether this is something that the businesses want and (b) gather ideas via a Questionnaire on how the funds (in excess of £70,000 per annum) could be spent to enable a 5 Year Business Plan to be written.
Following this research a Launch Event will be held at the Courthouse on the evening of Monday 29th April 2013 where you can find out more about the BID, how other BID town's have fared and also put your point of view across. The Otley BID Business Plan will be sent to all business in the Summer prior to the official ballot which will be held this Autumn. Should we get a 'Yes' vote then the 5 Year Business Plan will take effect from April 2014.
